Teachers Across Borders (TAB) Australia Incorporated is a non government not for profit organization that conducts short term workshops for teachers in developing countries. It is not affiliated with any other organization.
Volunteer teachers from TAB Australia run professional development workshops in three provinces in Cambodia in the semester breaks in January, July and August.
Workshops are offered to teachers from all three educational sectors from kindergarten to senior secondary school as well as for principals and administrators.
Teaching and learning across a broad range of areas are covered as well as workshops that are not subject based.
Each year, the Auburn South Primary School community raises funds so that 2 of our teachers can run these professional development workshops in Cambodia.
Chass Primary School – Siem Reap, Cambodia
Through our involvement in the Teachers Across Borders program, Auburn South Primary School has also established a connection with Chass Primary School, a small rural school south of Siem Reap. This school has very basic equipment, desks, paper supplies and basic posters created by the teacher. Donations from within the Auburn South community have contributed to the building of water tanks and drink fountains, purchased sports equipment, books, stationary supplies and maps. Bicycles have also been donated so that the local children are able to attend school.
Many Auburn South families have made an effort to visit Chass Primary School in their travels. If you would like to learn more about the Teachers Across Borders program or make a connection with Chass Primary School, please contact the school office or visit the Teachers Across Borders website.
